- Meets with Fayose
By WOLE BALOGUN, Ado Ekiti
There were strong indications yesterday that former Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Hon. Femi Bamisile, may rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Daily Sun learnt of the development from reliable sources and moved swiftly to the venue where a meeting was speculated to be holding.
Bamisile met with Governor Ayodele Fayose at a popular hotel along Ado-Iworoko Road and owned by a prominent trado-medical practitioner yesterday, where they held a closed-door meeting for about an hour.
Fayose, who drove himself into the hotel in a metallic colour Kia Optima, wore a white ‘Jalamia’. He immediately went straight to a section of the hotel, where the meeting was held.
Four prominent traditional rulers also attended the meeting, which took many of the hotel customers, who were familiar with the politics of the state by surprise.
The Commissioner for the Environment, Chief Bisi Kolawole, who was Bamisile’s colleague in the state’s third Assembly and two prominent members of the PDP were also present.
Two notable APC members accompanied the former number three man to the meeting, which may be interpreted as a move to dump the APC alongside notable members of the party when the deal is finally sealed.
When the duo came out of the hotel, they refused to speak with journalists.
Further moves made to Fayose to confirm our reporter’s suspion proved abortive as the governor drove off. Bamisile defected to APC barely a week to the June 21, 2014 governorship election, following irreconcilable differences with Fayose.
