Barely a week after the Department of State Services (DSS) released the Chief Security Officer to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Gordon Obua, he has been readmitted at the Abuja National Hospital over ill health. Information available revealed that the former CSO was admitted for medical attention on Wednesday following the deterioration of his health.
It would be recalled that Obua, who suffers from diabetes and hypertension had taken ill during the six days he was in the custody of his employers where he was quizzed over security vote spendings and alleged money laundering.
The DSS operative was then rushed to the hospital where he was admitted, treated and discharged. But following reports that he might have died in custody, the DSS hastily presented him before journalists at its headquarters in Abuja on July 22, 2015 where he addressed newsmen for about three minutes.
Obua had told journalists that he was alive and healthy, adding that the DSS management treated him well. The former CSO was later released to his family which had voiced concern over his whereabouts and well-being.
Information are still sketchy concerning Obua’s admission while efforts to reach the DSS for comments to ascertain the true situation of the former CSO’s health as the time of filing this report proved abortive.
