ABOUT 20 supporters of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, who were arrested on Tuesday, were yesterday, arraigned before a Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. They were later remanded in prison custody over conspiracy and treason charges.
The accused were Benson Sunday, Emmanuel Ali, Ukeme Monday, Chibuzor Echina, Charles Eze, Egbo Okechukwu, Chibona Ifion, John Douglas, Ezenwa Alphonus and Wori Endurance. Others included: Chinomere Nwolu, Henry Eze Friday Uzunwa, Igbodo Abio, Akaniyene Uwem, Eni Iboro, Obinna Stephen, Monday Ocha, Obinna Ibekwe and kingsely Ezengorie.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Nyesom Wike, yesterday, pointed fingers at each other over the pro-Biafra protest in the state.
Earlier, the state APC Publicity Secretary, Chris Finebone, issued a statement accusing Wike of funding the group through his media aide, Simeon Nwakaudu. Reacting, Nwakaudu, stated that the APC’s statement exposed their connection with separatist protests in Port Harcourt.
